| Yitzhak Boanish, the Kiryat Arba security officer, heard the sounds of explosions from Hebron as he was having dinner with his family, and set out with the emergency response squad to help with the fighting and evacuating the wounded. Squad members managed to shoot at least one of the Islamic Jihad members on their way to the ambush site, before Boanish was hit by gunfire and a stun grenade. Boanish, married and a father of five, died on the spot. He was Kiryat Arba's security officer for 12 years and had set up emergency response units in dozens of settlements. |
